Venetian glass is revered worldwide for its vibrant colors, delicate and elegant designs. What many don’t know is that in 1291, the Venetian Republic, overwhelmed by the danger of the glass kilns in a wooden city, ordered the glass foundries to the island of Murano; where the majority of all Venetian glassmaking continues to this day
